Core Infrastructure
Constructed in the 1960s, Northern Burlington County Regional High School has undergone some renovations and upgrades, and has been well maintained over the years. However, similar to an aging home, the facilities are in need of major upgrades, such as a new roof, as well as electrical and HVAC upgrades that go beyond routine maintenance.
If approved on March 13, 2018, the NB Regional Referendum will fund necessary renovations and upgrades. The projects will include:
- Roof replacement
- Replace original boilers from the 1960s
- HVAC upgrades
- Electric system and plumbing upgrades to improve sustainability
- Improve ADA accessibility for all students
- Cafeteria Expansion
“In the event that the referendum does not pass, these critical needs will remain and any emergency projects that arise will have to be completed in a timely manner. No one is certain when equipment will fail and emergency needs will arise but the district will continue to maintain the facilities. This may result in repairs being made and, subsequently, no state aid will be available to support the cost of these repairs. Please be reminded that state aid is available only when the repairs are outlined in an approved referendum.”
